My friend Danny and I booked a two day fishing trip. Fishing was a little slow but it was a great trip. Scott Diegel was our fishing guide and we had two pretty challenging days of fishing. Friday (6/23) really hot….caught fish but pretty slow. Saturday (6/24)…cold, windy with 3 foot waves. Less fish, but bigger fish. Fishing is a tough, sometimes they bite and sometimes they don’t.
The lodge was phenomenal, very clean and well furnished. Food was absolutely excellent. Shonda is an excellent chef. Her employee Nikki is also great.
I would highly recommend booking a fishing trip to Oahe Wings and Walleyes.
Thanks to Chad and Shonda (and Paul) for a great time up in South Dakota. We got our limit both days, and the weather was beautiful. The lodge was outstanding, as was the food. This is definitely a great place to stay!
My dad and I made our first trip to hunt pheasant this past week. I live in Charleston, SC and I have Brittanys that I hunt on quail. So I wanted to make sure we knew how to be successful on pheasant. So the Wednesday before we started our 24 hour drive I called and spoke with Shanda. She was very helpful and gave me some tips and I explained our situation and that we were camping that week on a dad/son trip and wanted to learn with the best and see how my dogs held up for a day before trying it on our own for a few days. Chad called me back with some great advice and we came prepared with both my dogs (and if I had more I would bring them). We only got to spend one day with these guys and got to work with Brad, Chad’s father, who was remarkable. We learned so much and had a great time. When my dads gun malfunctioned, Chad let him borrow his 12 gauge SBE for the day which was a day saver since Our backup gun was back at my campsite 45 minutes away. Brad really knows his stuff and watching Chad and his dogs and the his other client group (who hunted separately) of the day you can tell these guys love what they do and they are darn good at it. The food we had that day was excellent. The lodge is first rate. It’s rural with very few people around so if you want to get away from the crowds this is your place. For us it was perfect. If you are in the Mobridge area and want a quality guide for a few days I strongly recommend these guys. Can’t wait to go back.
The Heintz cousin reunion was held at Antler Ridge Lodge Aug. 17th -19th. There are no words to explain the wonderful accommodations and fabulous food the 26 of us enjoyed. The best place by far that I have ever stayed. Thank you Shonda for everything! It was more than we could have hoped for.
Best place I’ve stayed in South Dakota. Fishing on the Moreau in the winter is tough to beat as well. We caught walleyes, pike, crappies, perch, catfish, smallmouth bass, it doesn’t get any better. I do recommend hiring Chad as a guide, he will keep you on the fish the best he can. We had a phenomenal trip and can’t wait to come back with the family!
